That moment when..
you get a phone call that your child is sick and has to be picked up from school/daycare.
It's one of the mostannoying inconvenient aspects of working and having a child in daycare. If your child is sick you still have to pay for care, and if they have a fever your child can't come back to daycare for 24 hours! If for some reason your daycare has to close, you still pay them and your SOL for care that day. It's been such a nightmare trying to find back up care for these instances and it makes me want to be a SAHM even more.
Jace's daycare called me yesterday at work and let me know he had a fever of 102.6 and had to be picked up. I went and got him and took his temp, and yep sure enough he had a high fever. I gave him some Tylenol and took him to the pedi and of course by the time he got there his fever had subsided and the doctor said he looked fine (no ear infection thank god)!! He played like normal yesterday and went to bed at a normal time. This morning we wake up and he has a fever again, so no daycare for him we ended up dropping him with Grandma for the day. I'm assuming it's from the teething like the doctor said but I really hope his fever will stay down or else we're in trouble because we'll have to find back up childcare for tomorrow also. My plan for today is to let him rest and continue giving Tylenol every 4-5 hours until the evening when I may switch to Motrin because it tends to work better for fevers. Poor bubs can't catch a break he is always sick. I'll update tomorrow with how he's doing, nurse mommy should have him feeling much beter by then :)
It's one of the most

Give it a go? I think so!
I think we are going to give this month a try! We are supposed to be waiting to try and conceive but what the heart wants, the heart wants :) We go back and forth with it everyday but we really want a sibling for Jace by the time he turns 2. My estimated due date if we conceived this cycle would be October 28, 2013 which is the day after hubbys birthday. I think last month was the perfect break that we needed from the ttc madness (scheduled sex, opk obsessing, tww). I'm debating on if I want to use OPK's this month or not but I'm super stoked about trying again. I'm swaying for a girl also so we will be DTD a lot before O!

Work out buddy!
So I finally decided to accept my friend's offer to work out with her at the gym. She gets a free guest with her membership, so I figured why not? I really want to jump back on the exercise bandwagon and get toned by late spring. We're going to meet up this Sunday, which is perfect because that is the best day to start a new regimine.
I came home yesterday and to my suprise my husband had cleaned up the house and it looked great! I was so happy to see that he's taking more initiative around the house! I got off work early yesterday and spent the afternoon watching OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) and rested for a little bit. Waking up at 4am and getting 4 hours sleep caught up with me and I was exhausted. Jace took a 3 hour nap yesterday from 5-8pm and I kept peeking in on him wondering if I should wake him or not. If he naps too long that will usually interupt his sleep pattern and he won't go to bed until 2am. Also, if I wake him and he's too tired he will be whiney and miserable, GAH! So, I decided to let him nap, and then I napped, and he actually went to bed at 11pm and slept until 10!! #Winning

His first birthday!
I love this little boy more than words can describe! He is 16 months old right now and he is walking, saying "mama" dada" "tata" "baba" and he loves Mickey Mouse and Spongebob. What a blessing he is!! He only stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks before they released him home to us, and that's when our life began. <3

6 Months not preventing...
I got AF two days ago and this is my 6th. cycle not preventing pregancy. I won't call it TTC anymore but we are waiting and open to a suprise in the future. I like it better this way because it is more laid back and I won't feel like a complete failure if we keep getting BFN's. My period came about 2 days late (the morning of cycle day 31 my average is 28 days) and during those two days I took a few pregnancy tests and prayed and hoped the wench wouldn't show. It's funny how you don't realize how much you want a baby until you find out you aren't pregnant. Luckily I have a precious sweet baby boy to make the time fly by faster and make this a lot easier to move on every month and keep "not preventing and hoping for a suprise." I may use OPK's this month and I may not...the neurotic obsessive part of me wants to temp/chart and use opk's so I will know when I o'ed but then we aren't "trying" per se so I have no idea if I actually will. I'm trying to keep busy to keep my mind off of this baby fever I have though. My "to do" list for the rest of this week consists of:
-Getting J on a good sleep schedule, staying consistent with his nightly routine
-Organizing my house
-Cleaning our bedroom
-preparing more meals at home
Let's see how I do! I'll be pinning for organization tips..yes, I'm a pin whore lol ;)

Epic Fail!
Well,
the special k plan didn't go so well after all...I've been under so much stress financially that I haven't been sticking with my diet :( Good news is that I didn't gain any weight though..
In other news we are finally getting J on a good sleep schedule which equals me getting at least 4 hours sleep yay!! He has been going to bed around 10-11 and sleeping until 9/10 while only waking up once for a bottle in between. I'm so happy he is starting to sleep more at night. What worked for us was establishing a routine and then eventually being consistent with it. I only let him take one nap per day for no longer than an hour and then I let him play for most of the day. I give him dinner, bath time, and then I'll read him a book. I lay him down around 10-11 and he is usually knocked out by midnight. Such a big difference between a few weeks ago when he would be up at 2am playing and laughing at our attempts to get him to sleep. Current score:
Us-2

Special K Plan- day 1
Today I started the Special K plan and I'm starving!! For breakfast I ate one bowl of the cereal and for lunch I'm having a vanilla protein shake. Dinner will be something low cal but I'm more than likely ordering because I'm exhausted. In other news we DTD during my fertile time frame this month so I still have a chance for a BFP! I'm on cycle day 19 though so about 10-13 days until the witch shows. We keep going back and forth between wanting to wait and TTC, signing off for now happy hump day!

Feeling blue
I've been feeling very depressed lately and I'm not quite sure the exact reason why. I can think of some things that are bothering me and although some of them are stressful I also have a lot to be happy about. My habit that I seem to fall in when I get depressed is to grab something to eat because that usually makes me feel better temporarily. I've been doing poorly with my diet not eating clean enough so I'm starving by the end of each day and I've been getting hunger headaches. I think it's the weather here in New York! We have a low in the single digits tonight and there's something going around here everyone is sick! I just don't know why I can't get out of this funk I'm in. I really hope these next 3 days are better for me because I will be off work. My child has decided he doesn't want to go to bed until 4am so this rest is much needed. Thank god tomorrow is Friday!

More water please!
I think one of the most important components of healthy living and losing weight is drinking lots of water. I am now making a conscious effort to drink my 8-10 glasses a day, I actually brought a gallon of water to work today just as a reminder to keep chugging lol. As of today I am banning myself from soda and juice, it's not worth the calories and soda is so bad for you! I'm going to try my best and stay strong, I'd hate to ruin all the progress I've made this far. I have a date with hubby planned for this weekend and we're going bowling and out to a local bar for a drink and some food. I have no idea what food I will get but I will more than likely drink water. I'm weighing in every Sunday and at my last weigh in I was 156. I'm starting Leslie Sansone's walking cardio shape up Thursday or Friday so hopefully that will burn whatever I eat on our date. I'll probably update here again later..Happy hump day!

How I've lost weight thus far..
This time last year I was a size 16 and miserable about my body and now I'm wearing a size 10 that is too big! I can thank counting calories and the Special K plan mainly for the weight loss. I've tried Atkins, Weight Watchers, Starvation, Cabbage soup diet, 3 day diet, you pretty much name it and I've tried it. I like counting my calories because then I can still eat what I want but in moderation, which I'm learning is key to successfully losing weight and keeping it off. So I can basically have my cake and eat it too right? The answer is no because I eventually learned the food that I was eating were high in calories and very unfulfilling. I then started to eat more fruit and veggies and lean meats and as I dropped the weight I became more motivated and started to exercise frequently. I fell off the bandwagon a few months ago though and I've maintained the same weight now for a few months which isn't as bad as gaining. Friday when I get groceries I will be buying a ton of Special K products. I love their products and I have tried the Special K plan and lost weight doing that also. My favorite cereal is the Special K Multi Grain Oats and Honey, YUM! I also love their protein shakes they're perfect for someone like me who is always on the go and doesn't have time to prepare a meal all the time.
My exercise regimen will consist of cardio and weight lifting (to tone up) about 3 times a week to start and then I'll gradually increase it to 4-5 days a week. I'm hoping blogging about this will help me stay on track and focus to meet my goals. Another one of my favorites is Lesslie Sansone's walking cardio shape up, which I will be starting back up at the end of this week! It's a great workout for somebody who is out of shape or for beginners who want to pace their self. I was drenched in sweat doing the DVD at home last time so it definitely works and you will see results if you stick with it. It should be interesting doing an exercise tape at home with a toddler, last time my little pumpkin was only a few months old. My starting weight as of yesterday is 156lbs. and my goal is to lose 25 pounds by my birthday April 26th. I CAN DO THIS!

New year, new blog name!
I decided to change the title of my blog after a long talk with DH and a realization of us not actively TTC anymore. We've decided to wait until our son is 2 or 3 years old at the minimum and I think that's whats best for now. There are a few things I would like to do before baby #2 anyway and with us being unsucessful for all those months it was stressing me out!
I think Fit Momma is such a cute name because my son calls me momma and my goal is to be more fit by the end of this year! I shot up to 215 pounds after giving birth and then shed 59 pounds in 11 months with the help of diet and exercise. I still want to lose another 15-20 pounds and tone, having a baby does a number on your stomach!
